Would you like to work with a talented, enthusiastic, passionate set of people who create a culture that they rave about? iovation is looking for a Manager of Service Reliability Engineering provide leadership, management, direction, and vision to our Service Reliability Engineers (SREs).  The focus is on the reliable operations of our internal software pipeline from codecommit through testing, and into production. The position works closely with development, QA and SRE peers, product and project leaders/managers, and other in-house teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manage and lead a team of operations staff with diverse backgrounds
  • Mentor more junior SREs.
  • Support the reliable operation of products and facilitate delivery of product enhancements by providing management direction to a team of operations staff
  • Coordinate the across the technology organization with those responsible for the development, testing and implementation of services to ensure that they are supportable and meet the needs of the business
  • Understand resource needs and allocate the available team resources to ensure balance and completion of initiatives
  • Interface cross-functionally with managers and team members within Engineering, IT and Product Management
  • Facilitate diagnosis of complex system problems
  • Identify and implement best practices by collaborating with other SREs and SRE teams.
  • Identify and implement architectural best practices by collaborating with multiple teams and software engineers.
  • Seek diverse ideas and perspectives from a variety of sources to create better solutions, products, and services.
  • Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements and innovation
  • Lead and mature DevSecOps practices within the organization, including processes and tools (includes both on/offshore)
  • Champion security best practices to help ensure consistency in security throughout the organization
  • Participate in and work to improve the art of Release Management in the organization
  • As required, facilitate or perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on service issues
  • Negotiate, plan and manage release activities


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience related to participating in team leadership, supervision or mentorship
  • Demonstrated experience related to software development, quality testing and/or IT operations
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with department members and other cross-functional team members related to the technical development and delivery process
  • Experience in Agile/DevOps management approaches
  • Demonstrated growth and expertise in industry technology trends
  • Proven expertise in partnering and leading staff to solve complex business needs
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
  • Working knowledge of database systems and design
  • Strong organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills
  • Experience working with and coordinating between multiple functional groups and departments
  • Strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and re-prioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity
  • Ability to clearly explain (written, and orally) technical issues to a non-technical audience

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience working within a Software as a Service (SaaS) organization
  • Experience leading mixed teams of development, quality assurance and operations

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, hearing and talking; intermittent standing and walking; intermittent bending and twisting of the upper body (in the event of traveling/working from remote locations). Close detail work requiring visual acuity.
