Position Summary

We’re looking to add a Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to our team with a focus in the multi-factor authentication arena who has experience bringing software products to market and managing marketing activity for product and industry-focused initiatives. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Marketing, the role will support our Marketing and Sales teams as a direct resource for strategic planning, industry and product-based research, product positioning and messaging, go-to-market planning and execution and sales tools & enablement.  This includes working with cross-functional teams across iovation and in the broader go-to-market ecosystem in support of the product portfolio business goals with product and solution-focused demand generation and sales training programs. The successful candidate will:

  • Champion Solutions: Communicate a compelling vision which incorporates key input from other team members, customers, sales, product management and marketing communications to influence product and solution marketing strategy and planning, the analyst and press community and product definition
  • Have A Flair For Positioning and Messaging: Guide and develop positioning, messaging and branding for the product, solution or industry vertical
  • Drive High-impact Marketing Content: Develop and maintain product content and ensure alignment with key stakeholder groups, including sales, marketing communications, product management and management
  • Communicate and Sell the Value: Drive and deliver the development of compelling content for iovation products (internally and externally) which balances the technical details with the business benefits

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop the key messages and positioning to support the brand, describe the benefits of the solutions and convey the image of the company throughout all marketing activities
  • Create and deliver materials for reference by Sales organization, including sales training and presentation materials, competitive reports, battlecards and other GTM tools that help drive market adoption and sales success
  • Train a worldwide direct and indirect sales team on methods to achieve success with iovation products, services, and materials
  • Train sales teams on where and how to use technical or business-focused content at various stages throughout the sales funnel
  • Plan, develop, execute and sustain all elements of go-to-market initiatives, including market research, target market analysis, product launch strategy, outbound messaging, differentiated value propositions and product and solution related content
  • Define and compose materials for external use to support product initiatives, including materials for website content, webinar content, news flash, white papers, blogs and other documents
  • Interact with customers in seminars, tradeshows, and in customer visit settings
  • Define and conduct product-related presentations internally and externally
  • Participate in the creation of demand generation marketing programs and ensure focus is on effective positioning, messaging and core content needed to drive revenue targets
  • Lead tactical planning and execution of go-to-market launches between cross-functional groups
  • Define all aspects of product positioning and rollout
  • Establish sales processes and communication strategies
  • Responsible for generating “buzz” within the company, especially the sales and partner channels, to create excitement around designated solutions
  • Define distinctive competence of product set, specifically defining the product differentiators in the context of a target buyer analysis
  • Conduct sales analysis and win/loss analysis, including definition of progress metrics (e.g. forecast sales projections, evaluation-to-lead conversion, average order size); incorporate results into activity planning to identify the market segments on which to focus sales activity
  • Plan and manage analyst relationships, including briefings, strategic sessions, presentations and other interactions as required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Communications or the equivalent
  • Significant experience in software product marketing, including the launch of a successful software product
  • Coordinating and directing marketing activities across multiple products
  • Effective communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Thorough understanding of and experience in creating buyer and influencer need, the business buyer’s journey and targeting
  • Demonstrated experience supporting outside sales with an understanding of structures and roles
  • Ability to simplify and articulate complex cybersecurity concepts  
  • Teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate and build consensus in a cross-functional team
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Demonstrate ability to formulate, communicate, and establish overall strategy and plans

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Experience

  • MBA
  • Enterprise software experience or experience marketing cybersecurity software
  • Presentation and training experience

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, hearing and talking; intermittent standing and walking; intermittent bending and twisting of the upper body (in the event of traveling/working from remote locations). Close detail work requiring visual acuity.  Job includes some travel, and working some evenings/weekends (as required fulfill any community activities)
