Position Summary

A critical aspect of getting our products, enhancements and features launched so they blow away our customers is ensuring our software is tested, debugged and automated so potential kinks are identified and resolved. Our QA team is at the crossroads of this activity and they are enthusiastic and relentless about evaluating code, automating everything that’s appropriate, evaluating requirements and facilitating deployments - all to ensure the final product is in top notch form. Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in a project team in an agile QA role
  • Develop and/or apply automation where it makes sense

Skills/Requirements

  • 5+ years software QA experience or the equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience testing a variety of different products, including test plan creation and execution
  • Functional, exploratory, stress, load and regression testing
  • Ability to learn new technologies and tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written; ability to collaborate with team members
  • Proficient with a scripting or programming language including (but not limited to) Ruby, Java, Python, Groovy, shell. perl
  • Experience with Linux
  • Familiarity with SQL, RESTful and/or SOAP interfaces, Java, HTML and JavaScript

 

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Java services
  • Messaging system like ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ
  • Cassandra
  • Large scale, high volume, high availability applications
  • Mobile application testing
  • Cucumber, behave, Selenium or WebDriver
  • JMeter
  • JSON and/or XML
  • MacOS and Windows
  • Command line interfaces
  • Git or another SCM
  • Plus, it would be great if you could build a Linux server from scratch and play a good game of Settlers of Catan!

 

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, hearing and talking; intermittent standing and walking; intermittent bending and twisting of the upper body (in the event of traveling/working from remote locations). Close detail work requiring visual acuity.
